PDFs of the score and parts to "Forward: I. Perennial," composed in 2017 and recorded on the 2019 Paul Dietrich Jazz Ensemble album Forward. This is a standalone movement of a four part suite, written in 2017 with support from the Greater Madison Jazz Consortium's Artistic Development Grant.
 
"Perennial" is an upbeat piece with a playful (but difficult) opening in which a single line is passed between many instruments, followed by a more melodic section with a long trumpet solo and a tenor solo over a persistent groove.
